Eau thermale d’Avène

Naturally soothing and anti-irritating, Avène Thermal Spring Water is essential to the health of your skin, thanks to its balance of minerals and trace elements.
Far from a classic thermal water, Avène thermal spring water, with its recognised properties, comes from the impluvium of Avène, in the heart of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park in the south west of France. It evolves for more than 50 years in the depths, in order to acquire its unique and invariable composition.
It is this geological, chemical and biological heritage that Avène Dermatological Laboratories strives to preserve for the well-being and health of your skin.

A unique microflora:Aquaphilus dolomiae

Avène thermal spring water and its therapeutic benefits were discovered over 200 years ago. Long explained by its mineral signature, it took more than 9 years of work for the ARAGO laboratory and the UMPC/CNRS teams to isolate and identify a unique microflora.

Its name? Aquaphilus dolomiae, an ancestral microflora that does not exist anywhere else. This micro-organism produces active substances with anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant properties, found in Avène thermal spring water, which stimulate the skin's natural protection mechanisms.

Multiple clinical studies

The effectiveness and the soothing and anti-irritating properties of Avène Thermal Spring Water have been recognised by more than 150 scientific studies.

These multiple works have been published in international scientific press and recognise its virtues:

  • Respect for the physiology of sensitive skin: its balance is maintained.
  • Reduced skin reactivity: the skin no longer overreacts.
  • Strengthens the natural resistance of the cells: the skin defends itself better.
